Stepan Zoryan House-museum

In 1982, the house-museum of the writer was founded in Kirovakan, Stepan Zoryan's birthplace. The mansion was built by Zoryan in the mid-1960s, and fellow citizens baptized it with the name "Armenian Fortress". The writer lived and wrote here in 1964-1967. In 1972 The Council of Ministers of the ASSR made a decision to establish a house-museum on the basis of the writer's mansion. 1982 reconstruction construction works have begun. The first floor of the mansion was completely preserved, and the second floor, where there was only one room, was completed. To maintain the architectural style of the mansion, a third floor with one room was added. The authors of the summer house and house museum projects are the architect sons of the writer, Levon and Karen Zoryan.

The museum stores and displays more than 1940 stock values representing the life and creative path of the writer: books, manuscripts, photographs, personal items, household items, paintings, which are supplemented with new samples every year. The bust of Stepan Zoryan was placed in the courtyard of the house-museum on the opening day of the museum.

Furniture, vases, carpets, and a fish-harmonic purchased from the father's house, from relatives, together with old photos and postcards, spiritual books and textbooks complete the picture not only of the writer's childhood, but also of the given part of the city's history.
The house-museum has seven exhibition halls, where materials and things related to the writer's life, literary and social activities are presented. Exhibits representing the public activities of the writer are also kept here.
